The Clinical Pharmacology Modeling and Simulation (CPMS) group in GSK has m=
ultiple summer internship positions at its Upper Providence, Pennsylvania s=
ite.

Description of the Department:
GlaxoSmithKline R&D (GSK) is committed to model-based approaches to enhance=
 the quality and efficiency of drug development. The Clinical Pharmacology,=
 Modeling and Simulation (CPMS) Department has been effectively applying cl=
inical pharmacology principles and pharmacometrics methodologies in order t=
o aid rational and informed decision making in drug development working fro=
m Pre-clinical through Phase 4 programs.

Job Description:

* The intern will be part of a group that applies state-of-the-art =
quantitative methodologies within the modeling and simulation framework to =
the development of compounds in the GSK portfolio.

* The intern will contribute to the analysis of clinical data inclu=
ding pharmacokinetics, biomarker and/or clinical data to support the develo=
pment of new compounds in different disease areas.

* Through this program, the intern will gain experience in advanced=
 population PK and PKPD analyses and understanding the use of pharmacometri=
c analysis as part of a drug development program.

Basic Qualifications:

* Currently enrolled in a U.S. based Ph.D. degree program in Pharma=
cokinetics, Biopharmaceutics, Pharmaceutics, applied Mathematics/Statistics=
 or a related field

* Candidate must be eligible to work in the US at the time of, and =
for the duration of their employment and will be required to furnish eviden=
ce of US work authorization. STEM OPT extensions are not supported

* Candidate must be able to work on a full-time basis (35-40 hours/=
week) during the 12-week internship duration (May - July/August)

* Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-g=
raduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not =
eligible.

* Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with modeling and/or statistical software (e.g. WinNon=
lin, NONMEM, R, SAS)

* Completion of at least one pharmacokinetics course

* Student with prior relevant internship/work experience

Eligibility Requirements:

* Successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to ass=
ignment target start date.

* Provide your own funding for relocation and commuting.
