The Scientist will join the Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology group to per=
form model-based meta-analysis, facilitate model-based drug development and=
 provide broad pharmacometrics strategic leadership.

Position Description and Responsibilities:

The Clinical Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics (CP&P) department is searching =
for a Principal Scientist with expertise in Pharmacometrics (Pm) and Model-=
Based Meta-Analysis (MBMA). The Principal Scientist will join the Quantitat=
ive Clinical Pharmacology (QCP) group to conduct Pm analyses that will faci=
litate model-based drug development. This individual will be responsible f=
or: (1) collaborating with cross-functional team members to help address k=
ey program and portfolio level questions, (2) developing and implementing P=
m/MBMA analysis strategies to address key questions, (3) ensuring alignment=
 of the Pm/MBMA strategy with the global clinical development plan, (4) rep=
orting and interpretation of Pm/MBMA analysis results, (5) contributing to =
Clinical Pharmacology regulatory submissions (pre- and post-approval), (6) =
serving as a Pm and MBMA expert for both internal colleagues and to the ext=
ernal scientific clinical pharmacology/pharmacometrics community. This pos=
ition will provide an opportunities for internal and external growth/leader=
ship in both Pm and Clinical Pharmacology.

Position Requirements:


* Ph.D., PharmD, and/or M.D. in biological/medical/pharmace=
utical sciences, engineering, or a related field, with 3+ years of experien=
ce (industry and/or academia) in Pm analyses (e.g., model-based meta-analys=
is, population pharmacokinetics, exposure-response and disease progression)=
. Candidates with M.S. degree and significantly more industry experience wi=
ll also be considered

* Excellent understanding of theory, principles and statist=
ical aspects of advanced mathematical modeling and simulation

* Thorough understanding of the basic principles of pharmac=
okinetics and pharmacodynamics

* Experience in development and application of model-based =
meta-analyses

* Ability to communicate internally and externally on topic=
s related to Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacometrics and Model-Based Meta-An=
alysis

* Ability to keep up-to-date with and propose the implement=
ation of scientific and technological developments in Pharmacometrics

* Extensive hands-on experience with modeling/data analysis=
 tools such as S-PLUS/R, NONMEM, Monolix, Matlab, S-ADAPT, WinBUGS/OpenBUGS=
, and/or other commonly used platforms

* Ability to interact as a pharmacometrics expert with matr=
ix project teams consisting of experts from diverse functional areas

* Experience supporting clinical development in the Oncolog=
y is preferred

* Knowledge of current practices and issues in clinical pha=
rmacology, bioanalytical, biopharmaceutics, toxicology and regulatory affai=
rs would be a plus
