Job Description

The Associate Director Pharmacometric Scientist will:

* lead at a global level the planning, execution and delivery of mo=
deling and simulation strategy for multiple indications and/or a disease ar=
ea (or equivalent) within (early/full) clinical development;

* be responsible for the design and implementation of pharmacometri=
c methodologies that optimally address the research and development objecti=
ves on the assigned projects

* set the strategy for addressing pharmacometric support for regula=
tory submissions, and directly influences drug development decisions with i=
nternal and external partners;

* identify the relevant development questions that would benefit fr=
om model-based methods and develop modeling plans to deliver meaningful and=
 timely results clearly to development teams;

* have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the abi=
lity to work independently and effectively on interdepartmental project tea=

* have good mentoring skills to help less experienced associates an=
d good collaborative skills with other quantitative disciplines including b=

The scope of modeling activities include population PK/PD models, drug-dise=
ase models, clinical trial simulations, literature meta-analyses, and other=
 state of the art modeling and simulation techniques.
Key technical responsibilities are to organize, execute, and report modelin=
g and simulation independently, as well as to present work at cross-functio=
nal teams, departmental meetings, senior management review committees, regu=
latory interactions, and scientific conferences.

Minimum requirements

* Ph.D. in pharmacology, biology, engineering, mathematics, statist=
ics, or a field with significant modeling-related experience required (or e=
quivalent Ph.D. / MD)

* Fluent in English (Oral and written)

* 5-10 years industry experience required.

* Candidates should have expertise in quantitative pharmacology, st=
rong hands-on modeling and simulation skills as well as demonstrated experi=
ence with drug development through quantitative approaches.

* Experience with mechanistic PKPD and/or system pharmacology model=
ing is preferred.

* Rich hands-on experience with NONMEM, Monolix, R, Matlab and/or o=
ther modeling and simulation software is required.

* Experience working within clinical teams and contributing to (ear=
ly/full-) clinical development strategy with good strategic understanding f=
or applying quantitative analysis at the appropriate time.

* Strong clinical, pharmacological and therapeutic knowledge of at =
least one disease area preferred. Established track record of publications/=
presentations in pharmacometrics.
