Basic Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in a U.S. based PhD degree program in Pharmac=
okinetics, Biopharmaceutics, Pharmaceutics, applied =
    Mathematics/Statistics or a related field
* Candidate must be eligible to work in the US at the time of, and=
 for the duration of their employment and will be required to furnish =
       evidence of US work authorization
* Candidate must be eligible to work on a full-time basis during t=
he internship duration (35-40 hours/week)
* 3.0 or greater cumulative GPA

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with modeling and/or statistical software (e.g. WinNonl=
* Completion of at least one pharmacokinetics course
* Student with prior relevant internship/work experience

Description of the Department:
GlaxoSmithKline R&D (GSK) is committed to model-based approaches to enhance=
 the quality and efficiency of drug development. The Clinical Pharmacology=
, Modeling and Simulation (CPMS) Department has been effectively applying c=
linical pharmacology principles and pharmacometrics methodologies in order =
to aid rational and informed decision making in drug development working fr=
om Pre-clinical through Phase 4 programs.

Job Details (include responsibilities of the assignment)

  * The intern will be part of a group that applies state-of-the-art quan=
titative methodologies within the modeling and simulation framework to the =
development of compounds in the GSK portfolio.
  * The intern will contribute to the analysis of clinical data including=
 pharmacokinetics, biomarker and/or clinical data to support the developmen=
t of new compounds in different disease areas.
  * Through this program, the intern will gain experience in advanced pop=
ulation PK and PKPD analyses and understanding the use of pharmacometric an=
alysis as part of a drug development program.
