Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Model-Based Precision
Dosing, based in Systems Pharmacology within the Centre for Applied
Pharmacokinetic Research, in the Manchester Pharmacy School. The
lectureship aims to advance modelling research in the area of individual
dose optimisation and to demonstrate its application.

You will have a first degree in a biologically related subject (e.g.
pharmacy, pharmacology, systems biology) with a PhD involving modelling in
the area of clinical pharmacology. You should have a sound understanding of
physiologically-based pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics with scholarly
publications focusing on patient variability.

You will be expected to setup appropriate links with clinical research
groups across the University in order to initiate research projects related
to dose individualisation, particularly relating to Cancer, HIV and
applications of biologics. Research projects should entail the utilisation
of prior information on patients and drug characteristics using Bayesian
optimisation methods and by monitoring markers of therapeutic effects. The
Lecturer will participate and contribute to the post graduate teaching on
model-based drug development particularly in the area of
physiologically-based pharmacokinetic modelling.

The Manchester Pharmacy School is committed to promoting equality and
diversity, including the Athena SWAN charter for promoting women’s =
in STEMM subjects (science, technology, engineering, mathematics and
medicine) in higher education. The School received a Silver Award in
2014 for their commitment to the representation of women in the workplace
