As the VP, DMPK you will provide single point accountability for developing=
 and embedding a unified and integrated global DMPK vision and strategy to =
ensure the delivery of consistent, reusable DMPK data supporting the effici=
ent and effective progression of Discovery and Development projects, inclus=
ive of Research, Oncology and Global Health. This integrated global strateg=
y will require a focus on leadership, science, technology and culture. Repo=
rting to the SVP, In Vitro/In Vivo Translation, IV/IVT provides expertise i=
n nonclinical models, bioimaging, DMPK, bioanalysis, biomarkers, immunogeni=
city, safety, and drug disposition in support of nonclinical and clinical s=
tudies spanning target identification through post-approval of medicines.

As the VP, DMPK you will be integral in taking forward what has already bee=
n done with regards to the new structure and look to operationalise and dev=
elop the ways of working for this newly consolidated group. You will be res=
ponsible for ensuring the organisation is future-proofed and look at ways t=
o modernise, including the greater use of technology and automation.

You will also be tasked with developing DMPK scientific experts to define t=
he appropriate data requirements required by projects and influence progres=
sion, decision making, and regulatory approvals. These data sets are essent=
ial for lead optimization, candidate selection, human pharmacokinetic and d=
ose prediction, as well as clinical drug-drug interactions and dose adjustm=
ent for special populations. In this role you will need to build and mainta=
in strong relationships with a number of internal stakeholders including th=
e Research Units, Medicinal Chemistry, Product Development & Supply, and Da=
ta & Computational Sciences, Clinical Pharmacology and Experimental Medicin=
e, Development and Regulatory Affairs, as well as with external organisatio=
ns (academic, CROs, technology firms).

You will be required to provide scientific and managerial leadership to an =
experienced global DMPK function (c. 100 FTEs) spanning the US, UK and Spai=
n, to ensure best practice, focused decision making, execution of key deliv=
erables including the implementation of innovative technologies and approac=
hes to enhance scientific impact and drive efficiency, enhance the depth an=
d breadth of key technical skills focused on project delivery and to develo=
p DMPK scientists at all levels to retain and attract talent.

Responsibilities:
*Develop a unified vision and strategy for the Global DMPK function in supp=
ort of R&D objectives
*Develop and implement DMPK scientific strategies (including PBPK, PKPD) to=
 deliver earlier robust human PK and dose estimates and to appropriately ch=
aracterize drug Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Elimination (ADME=
)
*Develop and implement outsourcing strategies to meet programme and project=
 needs
*Provide scientific and managerial leadership to a global DMPK function to =
ensure execution of key deliverables to the entire R&D portfolio with effec=
tive people and capital resource allocation across sites
*Implement innovative technologies and approaches to enhance scientific imp=
act and drive efficiencies
*Build strong collaboration and effective interfaces with all Research Unit=
s, Medicinal Science & Technology (especially Medicinal Chemistry, Product =
Development & Supply, and Data & Computational Sciences), other lines withi=
n IVIVT, Clinical Pharmacology and Experimental Medicine, Development and R=
egulatory Affairs, as well as with external organizations (academic, CROs, =
technology firms).
*Ensure timely completion of DMPK contributions to internal dossiers and re=
gulatory submissions

Technical Skills & Experience
*PhD or equivalent in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics or related disci=
pline
*Knowledge of Discovery and Development DMPK. Ability to assess drug develo=
pability
*Significant experience in drug discovery and development with a deep scien=
tific and strategic expertise in cross functional interdependencies.
*Track record in leading a multidisciplinary DMPK function.
